Privacy Policy

RYDR (“RYDR”, “we”, “us”) is a community app for motorcycle riders. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the RYDR mobile app or our website at tryrydr.com — including its waitlist and event registration forms — how we use it, and the choices you have. By using RYDR, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information about your location

RYDR does not track your GPS or background location. When you create a group or event, you choose a state and city from a list — this region is stored with that group or event so other riders can find local rides. That is the only location information we hold.

Information collected automatically

1A. Information you give us on our website

Separately from the app, tryrydr.com has forms you can fill in without having an account. We collect only what those forms ask for:

We use this information only to run the waitlist or the event you registered for — confirming your place, sending you event details and safety information, and contacting you or your emergency contact if something goes wrong during the event. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

We share event registrations with the club hosting the event

Riding events promoted on RYDR are organised by partner clubs — the Iron RYDR Challenge is hosted by Moto Heads. To run the event, that club needs the entry list, so when you register we pass your name, email address, WhatsApp number, city, motorcycle, riding group, and emergency contact details to the host club.

The host club uses these to check you in at flag-off, verify your documents, keep track of riders on the road, and reach you or your emergency contact in an emergency. Once we have shared your details, the host club is responsible for how it handles them, under its own practices. If you would rather your details were not shared with the host club, please do not register — we cannot enter you in an event without passing them on.

Emergency contacts — information about someone else

An emergency contact’s name and number is personal information about a third party who has not visited our site. Please give these details only for someone who knows you are taking part and is willing to be contacted in an emergency. We use them for that single purpose and nothing else. If you are that contact and would like your details removed, email us at rydr.com@gmail.com.

What we deliberately do not collect

Our event registration form does not ask for your driving licence number, blood group, medical conditions, or insurance details. Where an event requires those to be checked, they are verified in person at flag-off and are not stored on our website or in our database.

Keeping and deleting event data

Waitlist entries are kept until launch, after which they are deleted. Event registration details are kept for the event and for up to 12 months afterwards (so we can verify results and finisher records), and are then deleted. Because you do not need an account to use these forms, the in-app controls in section 7 will not apply to you — instead, email rydr.com@gmail.com at any time to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it erased, and we will action it within 30 days.

2. How we use your information

3. What other riders can see

RYDR is a social app, so some information is visible to the community by design: your display name, @username, profile photo, city/region, listed motorcycles, and anything you post publicly (posts, comments, ride shares, events, and group membership). Your phone number is never shown to other users. Please treat anything you post as visible to other riders.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

5. Data storage and security

Your information is stored using Google Firebase and protected by access-control rules and encryption in transit. Your Firebase servers may be located outside your country of residence. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we will delete your profile and personal content within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

7. Your rights and choices

To make a request, email rydr.com@gmail.com.

8. Children

RYDR is not intended for anyone under 13, and where local law sets a higher minimum age for online services (for example, 16 in parts of the EU), for anyone under that age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as RYDR evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.

This policy describes RYDR’s data practices in plain language. It is provided in good faith and is not legal advice; please review it with a qualified professional before relying on it for app-store submission.
